For almost two years, Israel has prosecuted its war in Gaza with hardly any diplomatic consequences. Now that has begun to change. The French government is set to recognize the State of Palestine during the United Nations General Assembly in September. The governments of Great Britain, Canada and Australia will very likely follow suit. Even Germany, which long backed Israeli government policies almost unconditionally, is considering supporting the initiative.
