Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy criticised the detention of Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and several opposition MPs by Delhi police during a protest against alleged electoral malpractice.
The leaders were on their way to the Election Commission office as part of a democratic rally demanding action to prevent alleged vote rigging. Condemning the incident, Mr. Reddy described it as a “heinous and undemocratic act” to obstruct leaders.
He asserted that preventing peaceful and democratic protests undermines the very foundation of the country’s democratic values and called upon the central government to respect the constitutional rights of political leaders and citizens alike.
