A female paraglider has been rushed to hospital after crashing onto a cliff when her 'parachute collapsed'.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at Beer Head Coast Path in Devon on Friday afternoon following reports that a woman had crashed while landing.

The paraglider fell at least 10ft after her chute collapsed, the Beer Coastguard Rescue Team said.

The woman is understood to have landed on her back and was left in 'a lot of pain', the team added.

She was transferred to an ambulance and quickly rushed to hospital.
