The Election Commission of India (ECI) has delisted 22 registered unrecognised political parties that have registered addresses in Tamil Nadu and one such party in Puducherry. These 23 parties were among the list of 334 registered unrecognised political parties that were delisted across the country.

The delisting meant that these parties would not be eligible to avail any benefit under the provisions of the Section 29B and Section 29C of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 and relevant sections of the Income Tax Act, 1961 and the Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 1968.

All India Athithanar Makkal Katchi (Restored), All India Women Democratic Freedom Party, Ambedkar Peoples Movement, Anaithindiya Samuthaya Makkal Katchi, Anna M.G.R. Jayalalitha Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Appaamma Makkal Kazhagam, India Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam, Indians Victory Party, Kamarajar Makkal Katchi, Mahabharath Mahajan Sabha, Makkal Neethi Katchi-India, Meenavar Makkal Munnani, Nalvazhikkazhagam, National Organisation Congress, Nationalist Charity Congress, New Life People’s Party and Pasumpon Makkal Kazhagam have been delisted.
