Union Minister for Finance Nirmala Sitharaman called upon the citizens to pray before the god for prosperity of the country.

Speaking at the inauguration of the newly constructed ‘Yali’ (Sutthupouli), a traditional wood carving around the Krishna Mutt on Saturday, Ms. Sitharaman said she has come to the temple of Lord Krishna whose grace has been immense on her. She was overwhelmed to be part of the function, which was spiritually enhancing.

Ms. Sitharaman said she was in the temple on the day of Raksha Bandhan. “I want Krishna’s grace for India and our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. For the biggest of challenges, it is the prayers of gurus and grace of god that matter. Grace of Lord Krishna will lead us and take us forward. When you pray before the lord, do pray for Mother India. This country should prosper, and all our youngsters should prosper. We (Indians) should unite to serve the country,” she said.
