Communal rubbish bins on a busy junction are causing the area to become a 'dangerous' accident blackspot, according to locals.
The junction of Windlesham Avenue and Windlesham Road in Brighton has seen a staggering three crashes occur in the past five weeks alone - on July 2, July 3 and August 1.
Many panicked residents believe the smashes are being caused by four large communal bins located at the junction, which they say are creating a treacherous blind spot for cars approaching.
Some say the problem is being aggravated by the road being used as a 'rat run' by motorists to avoid going through the busy Seven Dials, sparking fears over the potential future consequences if the bins are not relocated.
Resident Carol Bullock said it was 'mad' that the bins hadn't been moved to a new location as she called on Brighton and Hove City Council to take action.
