The Central Bank of India has recently established an Al-powered Gold Loan ATM in Paramakudi, Madurai on a pilot basis. Based on the success and customer response the bank intends to replicate this in other locations. “This is second in India and first in Tamil Nadu. This is a pilot project and we chose Paramakudi as demand for gold loan is quite high in that region,” K.Shashidhar, General Manager-Central Bank of India, Chennai Zone said at the 144th Founder’s Day celebration that was held here in Chennai.

He also mentioned that the bank has recently entered into the insurance sector through a joint venture with Generali Group, launching Generali Central Life Insurance Co. Ltd. and Generali Central Insurance Co. Ltd. Mr. Shashidhar also said that about 45-50 new branches would be established in this zone.
