Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday (August 8, 2025) laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Maa Janaki Mandir at Punaura Dham in Bihar’s Sitamarhi district, considered the birthplace of Goddess Sita.
Earlier, Mr. Shah reached Sitamarhi in Bihar to lay the foundation stone for Maa Janaki Temple at Punaura Dham. The temple will be developed on the lines of a grand Ram temple at Ayodhya. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and several other Union Ministers are present on the dais. The temple will be spread over in 67 acres of land.
