A 45-year-old police officer attached to the Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) force has lost ₹28.2 lakh in one month while trying to date a girl through a mobile app.
The victim, out of shame, did not reveal the incident for over a month, but later shared the cheating with his friends, following which they suggested that he file a complaint. Based on the complaint, South East Cyber Crime Police have registered an FIR against unknown persons charging them under various sections of Information Technology Act, 2000 and also for cheating and impersonation on Tuesday (August 7, 2025) for further investigation.
