A sports presenter has pleaded guilty to carrying out a brutal campaign of domestic abuse against a former partner.

Bobby Nwanze, 36, acted aggressively towards the victim and made abusive and derogatory remarks towards her while they were a couple over a four-year period.

The online podcaster, who has worked as a freelance sports reporter with BBC Scotland and Sky, also accused the woman of cheating on him, threatened to damage her car and monitored her movements.

Nwanze, from Edinburgh, also engaged in controlling financial behaviour and on one occasion seized his partner's arm and pulled her towards him in March 2023.

He pleaded guilty to a heavily amended charge under the Domestic Abuse (Scotland) Act 2018 when he appeared under the name Charles Nwanze at the capital's sheriff court on Wednesday.
