Vice President JD Vance denied, through a spokesperson, news reports that he planned to host several Trump administration officials at his official residence on Wednesday evening to craft a unified response to the Jeffrey Epstein controversy that continues to create challenges for the president.

The dinner, first reported by CNN on Tuesday, was reportedly to be attended by Attorney General Pam Bondi, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, FBI Director Kash Patel and White House chief of staff Susie Wiles.

Other outlets, including Fox News, also reported on the meeting.

On Wednesday afternoon, however, a spokesperson for Vance denied the meeting would take place.

“The CNN story is pure fiction,” Vance spokesperson William Martin said in a statement. “There was never a supposed meeting scheduled at the Vice President’s residence to discuss Epstein Strategy.”
