A British man has been arrested in Florida on suspicion of attempted murder after he allegedly tried to drown his daughter-in-law in a swimming pool.
Mark Gibbon, 62, was on a luxury holiday with his family at the Solterra Resort in Davenport, near Disney World, when he got into an argument about his will, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
The grandfather, from Beaconsfield, in Buckinghamshire, allegedly kept trying to push the 33-year-old mother under the water at their holiday rental in a spat over the 'stipulations of his will'.
His nine-year-old granddaughter jumped into the pool to try and save her mother but he reportedly pushed her away, police said.
'She advised that she could not breathe and believed that she was going to drown,' deputies wrote. '[The victim] advised that she had to fight Mark in order to get away from him and from under the water but he kept pushing her back under.'
