Philippines President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will hold bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi today (August 5, 2025), as part of his five-day State Visit to India.
Earlier, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar called on Mr. Marcos Jr and asserted that his talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi will “significantly deepen our bilateral partnership”. The visit of President Marcos Jr coincides with the 75th anniversary of India-Philippines diplomatic relations.
The visit would formally begin with the ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan which would be followed by a visit by President Marcos Jr. to the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. On August 7, he will visit Bengaluru.
