President Donald Trump called Senate Democrats “crazed lunatics” while claiming they are delaying his nominees in exchange for money.
“Democrats, lead by Cryin’ Chuck Schumer, are slow walking my Nominees, more than 150 of them,” Trump wrote in a fiery Truth Social post Sunday night, naming the Senate Democratic leader from New York.
“They wanted us to pay, originally, two billion dollars for approvals. The Dems are CRAZED LUNATICS!!!” the post continued, possibly referring to reports that Democrats asked Republican leaders to release billions of dollars of government funds in exchange for a vote on some of the president’s nominees.
Trump’s comments came after he praised Republican senators for “fighting” to get his nominees confirmed by the upper chamber.
“Very proud of our great Republican Senators for fighting, over the Weekend and far beyond, if necessary, in order to get my great Appointments approved, and on their way to helping us MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN,” Trump wrote in a separate Truth Social post on Saturday.
