Italy's Communications Authority Agcom said Monday that, for the first time, it has fined an individual for being a 'digital ticket tout'.

It said it fined the person 675,000 euros for the illegal resale of tickets for 90 events.

It said the individual was involved in a "sophisticated fraudulent system" that made it possible for them to "ensure, through constant and fractional purchasing operations, the massive hoarding of tickets for entertainment and sporting events from the primary market with the sole purpose of reselling them on the secondary market at higher prices".
