Pediatrician Dr Seema Jilani has told Al Jazeera that malnutrition “affects their entire body, particularly for children where they have brain and growth development, where developmental milestones will be missed” and multi-organ failure can occur.
She also said that children experience starvation in Gaza is traumatic for children, who describe the perilous journey their family members take to seek aid in Gaza as “the death trap”.
