Noah Wyle, who found fame as Dr John Carter in ER, talks about playing another doctor in The Pitt, and the series’ 13 Emmy nominations

Twenty-six years after Noah Wyle was last nominated for an Emmy – for his role as Dr John Carter on NBC’s long-running medical drama ER – the actor is back with a chance at a golden trophy.

The star and executive producer of The Pitt received a nomination for lead actor in a drama series for his role as Dr Michael “Robby” Robinavitch. Overall, HBO Max’s breakout hit received 13 nominations.

Wyle will be competing with Sterling K. Brown (Paradise), Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us), Gary Oldman (Slow Horses) and Adam Scott (Severance) for the award.
