The IDF reported that it killed the deputy commander of Hamas' Al-Furqan Battalion, Salah al-Din Za'atra, on July 24. The deputy commander was "responsible for directing and advancing numerous terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF troops in the Gaza Strip," the statement says.
The army also said, over the weekend, troops directed aircraft that attacked and killed four Hamas terrorists in northern Gaza.
It added that troops are continuing to locate and dismantle terrorist infrastructure throughout the Gaza Strip.
