Minister for Roads and Buildings B.C. Janardhan Reddy on Friday instructed officials to expedite road construction works in the Chittoor, Palamaner, and Madanapalle divisions. Reviewing the progress of road development at Palamaner, the Minister stressed that projects sanctioned under various schemes must be completed within six months. He directed officials to immediately initiate the tender process.

Emphasising the need for improved inter-State connectivity with Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, Mr. Janardhan Reddy said the State government continues to prioritise road infrastructure. He stated that proposals would soon be submitted to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and asked officials to prepare the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) accordingly.

Officials from the Roads and Buildings Department informed the Minister that the pothole-free road initiative had been completed 100% across the erstwhile Chittoor district. Mr. Janardhan Reddy warned contractors against unjustified delays in execution and urged strict adherence to timelines.

Reiterating the importance of quality and transparency in all road works, the Minister instructed officials to ensure there was no compromise on either aspect.

Palamaner MLA N. Amarnath Reddy, District Cooperative Central Bank chairman Amasa Rajasekhar Reddy, and senior officials from the Revenue, Roads and Buildings, and Panchayat Raj departments were present.
