The parole of ‘Kodi’ Suni, convicted in the T.P Chandrasekharan murder case, has been cancelled after he violated bail conditions by failing to report to the Meenangadi police station in Wayanad, Kerala.

Acting on a report from the Meenangadi Circle Inspector Santhosh Kumar, Suni, who was granted 15-day emergency parole on July 21, was taken back to Kannur Central Jail on Thursday (July 31, 2025) night.

Three policemen suspended for allowing ‘Kodi’ Suni to consume alcohol

Mr. Kumar told The Hindu that as per the parole conditions, he should have stayed within the Meenangadi police station limits. However after reporting once, he was found staying in a resort within the Kenichira police limits, bordering Kannur and Wayanad, which was a violation of the conditions. This was promptly reported to the District Police Chief and a report was submitted, he added.

The incident has also intensified concerns over repeated security breaches at the Kannur prison. Three civil police officers – Vysakh, Vineesh and Jishnu of the AR camp – were suspended recently following a departmental enquiry that found the accused consumed alcohol while in police custody.
