14 protesters were arrested Thursday evening at a demonstration in Haifa against the war in Gaza. Police used force during some of the arrests.
The protesters held signs condemning starvation in Gaza and chanted slogans against the fighting.
The police said the protesters "did not heed the instructions announced several times by police officers to them after they waved signs and shouted slogans condemning Israel and its actions in the war in Gaza that could violate public order."
About a hundred people participated in the demonstration, which lasted about an hour. In an unusual move, police chief of the Carmel region Merav Wagner arrived at the demonstration, along with the commander of the Haifa Police Station, Eyal Shahar.
