More than 150 retired Israeli senior security officials called on the government to end the war in Gaza and to reach a deal to return the hostages all at once during a press conference outside the IDF and Defense Ministry headquarters in Tel Aviv.
Maj. Gen. (res.) Orna Barbivai said the war is harming IDF soldiers. "I can no longer bear the indifference of closed-minded politicians to the ongoing harm to the bodies, souls, and strength of our best people," Barbivai said, adding: "The war is harming the hostages and every Israeli and Jew in the country and around the world."
Maj. Gen. (res.) Uri Sagi said, "Israel cannot be built solely on its military strength. It also relies on international legitimacy and political arrangements – we are standing on the brink of no return."
