U.S. President Donald Trump is hardly known for soft-heartedness and humanitarian concern, particularly when it comes to the Palestinians in Gaza. Until now, when addressing the plight of Palestinians over the course of the war, he has largely echoed the talking points of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his right-wing coalition partners, placing blame for Palestinian suffering on Hamas and giving the army a free hand in Gaza.
