Actor Alon Aboutboul is dead after collapsing on a beach in Tel Aviv, Israel on Tuesday, agent Mark Teitelbaum confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
Aboutboul, who was known for roles in films like “Munich,” “The Dark Knight Rises,” and “London Has Fallen,” was 60 years old.
In a statement to THR, Teitelbaum said, “Alon was a brilliant actor, a true artist, an Israeli icon... but more importantly, he was a loving father of his four children, and a dear friend of mine and many others.”
“He possessed both a moral and spiritual clarity that is rare to find,” the statement continued. “As you might imagine, his family is in shock. He will be deeply missed. May his memory be a blessing.”
A witness account translated from Israeli news outlet Ynet by The Evening Standard said Aboutboul had been swimming in the ocean at Tel Aviv’s Dor HaBonim Beach when he emerged from the water, called for help and then collapsed.
