The European Commission has recommended suspending funding for Israeli startups engaged in developments that could also be used for military purposes, in the wake of the worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and the continuation of the war.
The decision would require the approval of the European Council by a 55% majority.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry said in response that "Israel will work to ensure that the recommendation is not adopted, and it is hoped that this will happen. Either way, Israel will not succumb to pressure regarding its national interests."
