French President Emmanuel Macron announced over the weekend that his country would recognize a Palestinian state at the UN General Assembly in September. The Trump administration was quick to condemn Macron: U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio called the move a "reckless decision" and a "slap in the face" to the victims of October 7. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu chimed in, saying that France's decision "rewards terror."
