Dravida Iyakka Tamilar Peravai leader Suba. Veerapandian has wondered how High Court Judge G.R. Swaminathan could hear a case pertaining to contempt of court against Madurai advocate Vanchinathan based on a complaint sent by the advocate to the Supreme Court against the same judge.

Talking to reporters here on Sunday, Mr. Veerapandian said that action should be taken against those who had leaked the details of the complaint lodged by the advocate against the judge.

“If this is considered to be a contempt of court, then some judge other than Justice Swaminathan should hear the case,” he said.

He said that several retired judges of High Court have also called for this.

The peravai would conduct a meeting to hail Mr. Vanchinathan in Chennai on Tuesday.
