At least six people died and at least two dozen were injured in a stampede at Haridwar’s Mansa Devi temple on Sunday (July 27, 2025), a police officer said. Haridwar SSP Parmendra Singh Dobal said, “Prima facie, rumours of electric shock to a devotee panicked others at the spot, leading to the stampede.” Four of the six killed in the stampede belonged to Uttar Pradesh, an official statement said.
