President Donald Trump lashed out at a group of reporters pressing him about his prior relationship with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on Friday and attempted to deflect their attention to former president Bill Clinton.

“You ought to be speaking about Bill Clinton, who went to the island 28 times,” Trump told reporters, referring to the notorious private island where Epstein ran an underage sex trafficking ring. “I never went to the island.”

Trump’s claims, which he made just before jetting off to Scotland to play golf, come after weeks of being under fire by the public, especially his MAGA fanbase for failing to release more information regarding his former friend’s case.

In the wake of the scandal, multiple news outlets have resurfaced old photos, videos and documents that appear to show a deep friendship between the president and the disgraced financier.

The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that Bondi informed Trump in May he was named multiple times in Epstein’s case documents.
