Private carrier Air India on Saturday (July 26, 2025) said it has disbursed interim compensation to the families of 166 victims of the Ahmedabad plane crash last month.
The airline added that payments to the families of another 52 victims are currently under process.
The crash, among the worst aviation disasters in India, involved a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner operating as Air India flight AI171. Of the 242 persons on board, 241 lost their lives, with the total death toll rising to 260, including fatalities on the ground.
