Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) vice-president M.C. Venugopal, who is also the in charge of Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee (DKDCC), said on Saturday that the party was mulling to bifurcate DKDCC into city and rural.

Speaking to reporters here, Mr. Venugopal said the DK Mahaila Congress Committee was already bifurcated into Mangaluru City and Rural as per the directions of the All India Congress Committee (AICC). A similar move was being planned by the party for the DKDCC too. However, the KPCC and the AICC were yet to take a decision on the matter, he said.

DKDCC President K. Harish Kumar, Mahila Congress Urban and Rural presidents Appi and Usha Anchan, Cashew Development Board Chairperson Mamatha Gatti, former Mayor Shashidhar Hegde, and others were present.
