Officials sounded alert in the villages located in the tribal Agency areas of Eluru district, as water level was rising in Godavari on Saturday (July 26, 2025). Water level in the river at Bhadrachalam was recorded at 35 ft and may rise further.
With the water level increasing in Godavari River, villagers staying on the river bund and in the low-lying areas were asked to shift to safer places. Flood level is rising for the second time in the last ten days.
Many streams were overflowing in the Agency mandals in Eluru district owing to incessant rains that have been lashing for the last two days.

“Discharge from Bhadrachalam was about five lakh cusecs on Saturday (July 26, 2025). Flood level at Polavaram spillway was recorded at 29 metres and the officials released about four lakh cusecs to the downstream,” the Irrigation Department officials said.
