The International Committee of the Red Cross called on Friday for the "rapid, unimpeded and impartial delivery" of humanitarian aid across Gaza, saying that the level of suffering inflicted on civilians in the territory is "abhorrent."
It also noted that many of its staff in Gaza – numbering over 350 people – are "struggling to find enough food and clean water."
"States must uphold their obligation under the Geneva Conventions to respect and ensure respect for international humanitarian law (IHL), including by ensuring that the arms they transfer do not contribute to violations of IHL," the Red Cross added.
It also called on Israel to allow the organization to resume visits to Palestinian detainees, as well as urged for all hostages to be released "immediately and unconditionally."
