Jay Slater died by accident after tumbling from more than 60ft into a ravine while on holiday in Tenerife, a coroner has ruled.
The 19-year-old from Oswaldtwistle in Lancashire had been to the NRG music festival with friends at the Papagayo nightclub in Playa de las Americas on June 16 last year.
Mr Slater is believed to have gone to an Airbnb in the early hours of the next morning before vanishing and being reported missing on June 18.
His disappearance 'touched the nation', his grieving mother Debbie Duncan told the inquest, but also sparked wild conspiracy theories about what happened to him.
The teenager got lost after a night out, desperately calling friends to say he was in 'the middle of the mountains' before his phone ran out of battery.
