Jay Slater's death was accidental after he fell from a height before his body was discovered in a ravine, a coroner has ruled today.
Dr James Adeley said the teenager fell in 'difficult' terrain and would have died instantly, adding there was no third party involvement.
His ruling came on the second and final day of his inquest at Preston Coroner's Court.
Before the verdict was delivered, Jay's mother Debbie Duncan described him as the 'life and soul' of the party who 'touched the hearts of a nation' in an emotional tribute
Ms Duncan said her son had a 'bright future' ahead of him and that his family's lives will 'never be the same' following his death last summer in Tenerife.
