President Donald Trump swung by the Federal Reserve on Thursday to highlight the hefty price tag of the building’s ongoing renovation as a means to pressure Fed Chair Jerome Powell.

But in a remarkable moment, Trump cited falsely inflated figures for the renovation — and got immediately called out for it.

The cost “is about $3.1 billion,” Trump told the cameras, “it went up a little bit — or a lot.”

Powell, shocked, shook his head in disagreement.

“So the $2.7 is now $3.1,” Trump continued. Powell then cut him off: “I’m not aware of that.”
