Lind is the daughter of One Tree Hill’s Barbara Alyn Woods, who played Deb Scott on the show, and got her first acting gig at age 6 alongside Dakota Fanning in The Secret Life of Bees

Lind says she was convinced she “was not going to get” the lead part in the adaptation of E. Lockhart’s bestselling 2014 psychological thriller. “I don’t see myself as this girl who’s innocent at all,” she told People. “I see myself as this person that’s loud, obnoxious, annoying.”

The series follows her character Cadence – a privileged teenager grappling with memory loss and dark family secrets – as she tries to piece together her past. Lind says she was initially suspicious of yet another teen drama script – until she read it. “I was like, ‘I can’t lie, this is really good. This is really fun. This is going to be big,” she said.

She is also set to star in the upcoming indie drama Pretty Babies, joining a talented cast that includes Ashley Benson, Madelaine Petsch and Sadie Stanley. Written and directed by Tyler-Marie Evans in her feature debut, the film explores the complex journey of two teenage girls who run away to Hollywood chasing stardom, only to become trapped in the harsh realities of the sex work industry as they travel from Texas to California.
