Three persons including a havildar in the Indian Army have been arrested from Kalindi Kunj, South Delhi, for smuggling opium worth ₹1 crore, an officer said on Thursday. An army-issued licenced pistol was also seized from the vehicle the accused were travelling in, he said.

A case was registered under sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and the Arms Act. According to the police, havildar, Godhu Ram, had taken leave to carry out smuggling activities.
