An elderly couple’s house at Marathode, near Kakkadampoyil in Kozhikode district, was damaged in an attack by a wild elephant on Wednesday night.
Houseowner V.J. Joseph and his wife had a narrow escape.
Local residents said a portion of the tile-roofed house collapsed in the attack by the wild elephant. As the couple refused to relocate from the house, the damaged portion was temporarily fixed with the support of a few local labourers, they said.
Some wild elephants attacked a vehicle parked near Thenaruvi in Kakkadampoyil on July 8, overturning it.
