European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen told the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome on Thursday that Kyiv can count on the EU now more than ever and announced a new EU equity fund for the reconstruction effort.
"Today we gather in this Eternal City to demonstrate our unconditional commitment to Ukraine," von der Leyen said.
"Our determination is steadfast, our support unwavering.
For we will always stand by Ukraine, for as long as it takes.
"Now more than ever, Ukraine can count on Europe.
