MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace on Wednesday declared that this is “officially the F-U week” of President Donald Trump’s second term, as he used the expletive publicly Tuesday and his judicial nominee, Emil Bove, apparently did too back in March.
Trump angrily told reporters Tuesday outside the White House that neither Israel nor Iran know “what the fuck they’re doing” after both nations violated a ceasefire deal mere hours after agreeing to it, thus violating another presidential norm by using the word on camera.
Bove, the current deputy attorney general, allegedly used the word in March.
He told Trump administration prosecutors at the time to be prepared to ignore federal court rulings aiming to halt mass deportations and gave Justice Department attorneys the green light to tell judges “fuck you,” according to former DOJ lawyer Erez Reuveni.
A whistleblower complaint filed Tuesday by Reuveni’s attorneys alleged Bove said the DOJ might want “to consider” doing so, as planes deporting purported gang members had “to take off no matter what,” which came up during his confirmation hearing Wednesday.
