The Tamil Nadu Public Works department has said that the water level in the Mullaperiyar dam crossed 134.40 ft at 4 p.m. on Thursday, with an inflow of 6,084 cusecs. Surplus water in the dam may be released to Kerala by the rule curve on June 28. The district administration has already issued a warning message over the chances of opening of spillway shutters of the dam when the water level reaches the dam curve rule level of 136 ft.
