Top model Naomi Campbell will be the godmother of the third edition of the Black Carpet Awards, an event that will be held on September 24 at the Teatro Manzoni, during Milan Fashion Week, organisers said Wednesday.
The Black Carpet Awards, whose 2025 edition was presented at the Milan Municipality Wednesday, are promoted by Afro Fashion Association, a non-profit organization founded in 2015, active between Italy and sub-Saharan Africa.
Led by volunteers, it promotes fashion, art and culture as tools for intercultural exchange, empowerment and sustainable economic development.
"It is not just an award, but a platform of visibility for all those people who, often far from the spotlight, work daily to break the mold, broaden their gaze and build spaces where diversity and inclusion are true cultural, social and economic values", explained the Councilor for Economic Development of the Milan Municipality Alessia Cappello.
"Having reached the third edition of the Black Carpet Awards - explained Michelle Francine Ngonmo, founder and CEO of Afro Fashion Association -, we renew our invitation to a collective commitment: to rewrite history together.
