Nilambur’s newly elected MLA Aryadan Shoukath met the striking tribal families in front of the district collectorate here on Tuesday and expressed solidarity with them.

As many as 60 tribal families from different hamlets in Nilambur have been staging an agitation in front of the collectorate here since May 20 protesting against the district administration’s alleged failure to honour its promise of 50 cents of land for the families.

Mr. Shoukath spoke to the striking tribal leader Bindu Vailassery and tribal agitation council convener GROW Vasu and assured them of his intervention and support as Nilambur’s MLA.
