The bodies of a 29-year-old woman and her six-year-old son were retrieved from a well while her eight-year-old daughter was rescued at Sativanipalem under Pendurthi police station limits here on Tuesday. The woman allegedly jumped into the well along with her two children, following a quarrel with her husband.
The deceased were identified as Kolli Geetha, and K. Bhavanesh Manikanta, an LKG student. The condition of her daughter, Yoshkasri, a Class II student, is said to be stable.
Inspector K.V. Satish said that Geetha had some personal disputes with her husband Kolli Pavan, a realtor. On Monday night, they had an altercation over a financial matter. At around 2.30 a.m., Geetha allegedly jumped into the well along with her children.
Sometime later, Ms. Geetha’s mother-in-law, K. Appala Narasamma, woke up to the screams of Yoshkasri from the well and alerted the neighbours. Upon retrieving them from the water, Geetha and Manikanta were found dead. The girl was shifted to hospital.
The police have registered a case following a complaint from Geetha’s parents, who alleged that Pavan used to harass Geetha mentally and physically. He often used to consume alcohol and trouble her, they said.
