Two brothers who slashed a brave off-duty police officer with a machete as he tried to stop an e-bike robbery have been jailed for seven years.
Hannan Mahmood, 20, and Humar Mahmood, 19, of Luton, Bedfordshire, attacked PC Darren Attwood outside a shopping centre in the city, leaving him with stab wounds to his arm and chest.
PC Attwood had been out shopping with his wife on November 2, last year, when he spotted the pair robbing an electric dirt bike and stepped into their path as they tried to make off with it.
Dramatic CCTV footage shows the off-duty officer blocking the brothers from getting away with a nearby plastic barrier - all while being slashed with a machete.
As he was attacked, one of the men said: 'Just kill him.'
