A man who fell unconscious and dangled upside down from a coconut climbing machine atop a very tall coconut tree in Elamakkara division was rescued by Fire and Rescue Services personnel from Gandhinagar station following an arduous operation that lasted around four hours on Monday.
The man, identified as Unnikrishnan, was left dangling from the coconut tree on a property in Elamakkara division. The initial plan to take him down using a ladder had to be dropped owing to the height of the tree. Firefighters had to tie crossbars to the tree to climb up as personnel from the Thrikkakara fire station also reached the spot.
