A 27-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her husband under Shankaranarayana police limits on Thursday night. Police said that Ganesh Poojary, 42, a resident of Hosamatha in Hiliyana village, Brahmavara taluk, worked as a painter, and his wife, Rekha, was an attendant at a fuel station in Shankaranarayana. The couple often quarrelled over Rekha watching social media reels on her mobile. The matter had been brought to the attention of the police earlier, who then took an undertaking from the couple.
On Thursday night, Poojary reached home late and got upset on seeing Rekha watching reels. In an ensuing quarrel, he allegedly hit her neck with a machete, causing her death. The police have registered a case and arrested the accused.
