A 69-year-old woman has this morning been charged with the murder of an award-winning film director in her Camden flat.

Jennifer Abbott, also 69, was found stabbed to death in her London home just after 6pm last Friday after not being seen for days.

This morning Nancy Pexton, 69, of Westminster, was charged with her murder and is due in Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court.

Detectives from the Met Police had been called by ambulance crews to reports of an unresponsive woman at Ms Abbott's home in Mornington Place, Camden.

Neighbours claimed the director, who was also professionally known as Sarah Steinberg, was found wrapped in a blanket with tape over her mouth.
