Collector Sibi Adhithya Senthil Kumar has directed quarry and crusher unit owners to obtain permission from the Department of Geology and Mines for storage and transportation of M-sand and gravel.
As per the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Illegal Mining Transportation and Storage of Minerals and Mineral Dealers Rules, 2011, quarry and crusher units required appropriate permission from the district administration for storing M-sand and gravel and also for transporting them.
Further, as the transit pass system for transporting M-sand and gravel comes into effect from June 12, quarry and crusher units have been instructed to furnish the required details on www.mimas.tn.gov.in.
Following registration, a free transit pass would be issued which could be used for transporting M-sand and gravel materials. For further details, applicants can contact the Department of Geology and Mining office on the Collectorate premises.
